Despite this being an old school expiration week, there are new names with extended weekly options series that showed up on the list last week. The table below highlights the new exchange traded products and stocks that now have near date option series available. Needless to say I’m personally excited to see the ProShares Short VIX Short-Term Futures ETN (SVXY – 122.37) added to the list.
With one more full week of trading in 2013 and there may be some short term volatility in a few names from the Weeklys list. The table below summarizes companies with short dated options available that report their earnings next week. Trading around earnings can be profitable for experienced traders. Catching the right move on earnings can always result in the GI Joe with the kung-fu grip arriving on Christmas morning.
